Giveaway!

Good morning readers and happy Friday!
For the past week or so, Wild Olive has been hosting a 'tea-party' with a blog full of baking and crafting tutorials. As a grande finale, she's giving away a miniature tea-set painted by the blogger herself!

How cute is that?
I love the colors that she chose and the little faces add character to the whole set.

Smart Meal Planning

"Life expectancy would grow by leaps and bounds if green vegetables smelled as good as bacon."
~Doug Larson

Sadly, we don't live in a dream world were vegetables taste like ice cream. It's up to us to pick and chose what we will eat and why we are going to eat it.
Lately, I've really been watching what I put in my stomach.
"Do I REALLY need 2 cookies? I bet I could just eat one slowly and be just as satisfied."
"I'm craving something sweet, how about I swap the ice cream for some strawberries!"
" I need some munchies, I'll ditch the chips and go for some baby carrots instead."
See how easy it is?
You don't need to not eat, you just need to eat better!
Need a kick start? Check out this sweet Meal Planner by Heartmade.

"So, to say good bye to the bad habits + get serious about my health, I've created this super cute meal planner, because I'm a little too obsessive + intense when it comes to plans + commitments. For some reason when I write it all down, it works + I commit to it."

Healthy Lifestyle

If you remember a little while back, I made a post about kick starting a healthy lifestyle with my week's challenge. I also made this printable list for you guys.

I've really been working hard with staying healthy. Since I've started yoga and eating smarter, I've really noticed a change in my body.
I feel better, have more energy, and have lost some weight (yay me!).

This week, we'll focus on getting healthy...together! Let's start with those 8 glasses of water we should be drinking every day.

Printable Freebies

I've rounded up a few goodies for my readers!

JSIM Header Image
"It all started with baby peas. Recently, I posted how to create tiny pea pod pendants, and the very next week I found a vintage peas seed packet among my ephemera stash."

"So I went about scanning and modifying it to create a little gift packet to hold the necklace for placing in a gift box. (Feel free to snag the image below for yourself!)"

Cathe's creativity didn't stop there.
Since the Pea Pocket, Cathe has been designing and printing many more pocket designs.

And the best part is, she's giving them away for free!
"They make great little note card envelopes, pockets for small supplies, party favor holders or gift card wrappers."

To see the original post, more pockets, and assembly instructions please visit Cathe's blog.
Don't forget to leave a little thank you note for her hard work and generosity!

Places I want to visit: France

On my list of places to visit, France is in the top five.
I want to walk down an old French street and smell freshly baked bread.
I want to eat  a real croissant in a real French bistro with my cafe au lait.
I want to get my picture taken by the "Tour Eiffel'!

Tumblr_ljnu7fhori1qb6f1po1_500_large

Yeah, I wanna be in the girl in that picture.

Tumblr_ljmjz2rfud1qhxssno1_500_large

Did you know...

- At one point in time, France made it illegal to sell faceless dolls?
- France is the most popular tourist destination in the world?
- The Phamtom of the Opera was written in France during the 18th century?
- France has earned the most Nobel prizes for excellent literature?
- France was second to America in using electricity?

Fun Fact- Gustave Eiffel not only built "Le Tour Eiffel", but also the Statue of Lady Liberty. He modeled her face to look like his mother.

I was totally excited last night when I logged on to my blogger account and saw that I now have 50 followers!

I started the Miss Yellow Shoes blog about a year ago; but it took me quite a while to get the hang of things.
(still learning)
I loved reading blogs about other crafty people and watching them upload videos, tutorials, and pictures.
(never thinking I would ever write my own)
But here I am, about a year later and with 50 regular readers!

I think this is a cause for celebration.
I'll be uploading a giveaway later today so stick around!

Wanna Trade?

What if we all wanted to trade crafts?!

I think it would be so much fun if
everyone in our little blog/etsy community,
who is willing to trade their handmade lovelies
for OTHER treasures made by OTHER bloggers,
would add a button to there blog, stating

I TRADE HANDMADE!

If you see the the "i trade handmade" badge on a blog and you would like to trade with that person send them an email and set up a trade.  Don't be shy everyone is nice and none of them bite.  Or if you want to find someone to trade with click on one of the links above and make a new friend.  It's easy, just ask them "would you like to trade"?

Find the original article and a list of traders here!
