Did you have a good Mother's Day? I hope you did something special for your mom. 

They really deserve more than one day a year don't they?

This is my mom at a St.Jean Baptist get together last summer. Isn't she pretty?

And this is my soon to be mother-in-law. 

I was so happy to get a quick visit with her on Saturday!

Well I'm very very busy this week, but drop by tomorrow for a wedding diy tutorial ok?

Places I want to visit: France

On my list of places to visit, France is in the top five.

I want to walk down an old French street and smell freshly baked bread.

I want to eat  a real croissant in a real French bistro with my cafe au lait.

I want to get my picture taken by the "Tour Eiffel'!

Yeah, I wanna be in the girl in that picture.

Did you know...

Fun Fact- Gustave Eiffel not only built "Le Tour Eiffel", but also the Statue of Lady Liberty. He modeled her face to look like his mother.

Good Evening,

I need to apologize for the lack of posts this weekend and not finishing up my to do list. 

If you've been a long time follower of Miss Yellow Shoes then you know that I was sick with mono not too long ago. I'm sure you all get tired of hearing this, but my immune system is down and my doctors told me that it will never be the same. 

So yes...

I was sick again.

But it's Monday night and the week has just begun!

Our Engagement Story

The Monday right after Christmas, Mike took me on our best date ever. 

We went ice-skating. I know that may sound rather simple to some girls who always picture themselves going out to dinner at a nice place, then some other random activity...but I find joy in the smallest and simplest of things.

Ice-skating is one of them. In fact...it's just about my favorite thing ever!

So we went ice-skating, and have a lovely time except for the part where I landed on my knee...on the ice...ouch...

Mike was taking a bunch of pictures which is rather unusual for him because he's rather camera shy. After about an hour and a half of holding hands while gliding across the ice, we decided it was time to go. 

We took off our skates and left the rink to wait for our ride outside. Mike spotted a bench not too far off so we braved the knee deep snow and the cold as we climbed up to the bench. 

A pile of snow has made the bench it's home, but that was no obstacle for Mike and his gloves. We sat, chatting a bit, for a few minutes when Mike began telling me how much he loved me. He made a sweet speech and reached into his pocket as he knelt down in front on me (in the snow)!

Then he pulled out the most gorgeous ring I've ever seen and ask me to marry him. I started crying and don't even remember if I was able to blubber out "yes".

We quickly took a few pictures and afterwards he picked me up and twirled me around like a little girl. 

It was so perfect, and I'm pretty sure I was still glowing the next day!

Current plans are to set the date in the summer of 2012!!!!

Rainy rainy day...

Today was a grey, cold, windy, rainy day...

My feet got all wet and cold...

This is my giant umbrella. It's big enough to fit several people underneath. 

Mondays...

Ah yes everyone, it's Monday.

The day when we all must fight our very own bodies just to hit the alarm button.

"no no! just a little bit longer in bed!" your mind cries out. But you know that it's time to get up and take that cold shower to help you wake up, get dressed, and head out the door.

Once Monday is over though, you have something to look forward to. Just make it to Wednesday and you're halfway there!

Baby steps...just take it one day at a time.
