Healthy Lifestyle

If you remember a little while back, I made a post about kick starting a healthy lifestyle with my week's challenge. I also made this printable list for you guys.

I've really been working hard with staying healthy. Since I've started yoga and eating smarter, I've really noticed a change in my body.
I feel better, have more energy, and have lost some weight (yay me!).

This week, we'll focus on getting healthy...together! Let's start with those 8 glasses of water we should be drinking every day.

8 a Day

Wild Olive made this super cute check-sheet to help us all keep track of how many more glasses of H2O we have to go!

Self Improvement Plan: Written in 2011

If you remember my goals for this year post, I said I wanted to be healthier and lose a little weight before my wedding (yay). I haven't been toooo bad since that goal was made. I haven't been working out EVERY morning but I have been eating better.
Anyway, as I was browsing around the internet looking at things from the past (1950s) I found a youtube video with a 10 point plan to follow for one week involving self improvement. Yes, diet and exercise are on the list but there is so much more. Things that we all should be working on every day...but a journey begins with a single step so will you take this weeks challenge with me? I know it's Wednesday but let's take these 10 points and work on them until next Wednesday. Let's see what we can do!

Take it away Jack!

And for your happiness... I've made the 10 point plan ready for you to print out and stick to your mirror!

Christmas Decorations- Postponed to tomorrow due to illness (bleh!)

Hey Guys,

I was really excited about todays Christmas Decoration post but the Mono decided to kick back in so I was pretty much knocked out for the day. I even slept through one of my classes because I was so drained of energy
I am feeling a weee bit better but I've realized more and more every day that Mono really does take a toll of the body of a busy college girl

I hope to finish the post I started today so you can all keep on crafting for the Holidays!
Sleep well readers!

Sickness, School, and Yarn

If this were a normal semester for me at college, I would have my daily planner full of things I need to get done, I'd be running from one class to another, and spending all my "extra" time in the library with a mountain of books. But, because of getting sick right before school started, my load has been significantly lightened.

As posted earlier, I can't take any stairs or play any sports, I'm taking a max of 4 classes, and I sleep all the time. It's not uncommon for me to be having a conversation with Mike then fall asleep half way through a sentence.
In fact, just today I feel asleep next to him on a couch while he was studying for a test.

But, with all this extra time and orders from my doctors and parents to relax and take it easy this semester, I've allowed my new crocheting hobby to take flight. As you've seen in an older post, I've finished my blanket and now I want sore above and beyond with this new found love.

I would love to make this for the 4th of July or my mom's birthday (the 4th of July actually).

This is gorgeous, and I would love to make this for a friend.

Where's Waldo? And Where's Mike?

The past few days have been somewhat of a downer. You know those days when everything seems to go wrong? I just have about 4 of them in a row and currently living in one of them.
Mike has been super sick and yet still performed in Northland's artist series. That's a story in itself. He was so sick that he was pale the whole time he was up there singing, and just about passed out twice. I was sitting on the edge of my seat just waiting to jump up and run to his side. He scared me half to death.
I ended up dragging him to the kitchen right after he had a breather outside in the fresh air, so I could get him some water, hot tea, oranges, and a granola bar. He felt a little better, but I still marched him back to his dorm and watched him walk inside (just to be sure he was ok).
Today was no different. My poor boyfriend and I sat in the back during graduation so he could get up for water if he needed to. He did, and took so long that I was afraid that he was unconscious on the floor in the hall. I went out to look for him, but he was fine. Just walking slowly.
He didn't eat very much at lunch, and won't eat dinner.

Sigh, I just hope that he will be better tomorrow for our flight back home. It's going to be a little rough on him.

So as I spend the day on my own, and packing everything has been checked off the list, I browse the internet searching for something to do. After an hour of facebooking and whatnot, I found an old childhood friend...Waldo. As in "Where's Waldo?" I was very excited when I found out that I could play a game online. (click here) and even more when I found out that I could turn myself into a Waldo (click here)!
I haven't finished finding everything in the game left, but I've found most things. Maybe you'll have better luck.

So, In honor of rediscovering my long lost childhood friend Waldo, and because I have oodles and oodles of time tonight, I've decided to relive some childhood memories I had with toys.

Drum Roll Please...

Dolls, oooooh how I loved dolls. I used to brush their hair and play all sorts of games with them. I would tell them my secrets and tuck them in bed with me.

Toy cars, I used to "drive" these things around for hours and hours with my brother. We must have had a hundred of them. They were all my brother's, except for one that was hot pink. That one was mine.

Easybake ovens, My daddy bought me one of these for Christmas. I must admit, I never did bake anything right. I would either burn it, spill it all inside the oven, or give up and eat it all raw and goooey.

Towels, yes yes believe it or not I played with towels. I would lay them on the floor and roll up the edges to make a "canoe" on which I would explore rivers and meet friendly Indians. Of course whenever boys where around we tied them around our necks and became super heroes conquering the evil villains with our multitudes of powers!

That's all for now folks! I'm going to continue searching through that Waldo game, maybe even pop in a Pixar movie... anyway...
Enjoy your weekend!

Cough Cough, Sniffle Sniffle

Well...I've been having a consistently annoying cough the past few days. The first few days I coughed through the night and pretty sure I kept my roommates up.(oops) I try not to cough during class because once I start, I go on and on and on.

Anyway, in society today we got to play some games and eat our cook's famous homemade cinnamon rolls (and chocolate milk...the cow was kind enough to share with us). We sang together and all exchanged cards. I actually ended up getting one of my own that I sold the night before.

Oh yeah, I sold all but 1 of my cards last night. I think everyone in society was too busy to make one so they all came running to my room. I was happy, made some laundry money.

I think I'll get some pictures up later today. Come back to seeeeee!

Jenni, my BFF! I brought her chocolate kisses for class this morning. She was really happy.
