Shop Banners

These are just some of the few designs I've come up with.
I don't think I've quite hit the mark yet.
Please leave a comment and let me know what you think, or any ideas you may have.

Yay Peasant Skirts!

I love long peasant skirts. I love the flowiness when I walk. I love when the wind plays with it. I love sitting down and having the skirt fall all around me on the ground. I love running down stairs with a peasant skirt on and watch it kinda hover in the air.
I also LOVE Goodwill. They have the best deals and stuff that you can't find anywhere else. I would much rather buy one unique piece of clothing rather than the one on sale that everybody else bought and wearing this week.
Well, I got to visit Goodwill today, and found two lovely peasant skirt for 4 dollars each. Mike really likes the long, flowy skirts so I bought them and took them home with me! Here they are...

I don't know why this image is slightly broken; but anyway here is the first one. It has a sort of tropical, island theme print all over it. I love wearing lots of colors so this was perfect for me.

This is the second one that I found. Slightly more tame that the last; but I love it just as much.
The color is a army green (I'll be wearing it with a pink shirt and black vest tomorrow) which is awesome.
Again, I paid just 4 dollars for this little bargain.

I didn't buy this one today; I've had it for quite some time. But this is what I wear under my peasant skirts to add to the "poof poof".

Now, let us look as the evolution of the peasant skirt...

The Original Peasant Skirt

Then we went on to making them a little more flattering to the body types and shapes of our day.

Now we have all these different kinds of colors and layers added on for style purposes.

I would love, Love, LOVE to have a skirt like this (perhaps in a different color).
This just goes to show that something simple and common, over time, can become original and loved by many.

Anyway, so that's what I did today, along with going to classes, tagging along with a friend to her doctors appointment, attending a concert, working, party, and homework...oh yeah...still haven't gotten to that last one yet...hmmmm

Perhaps I should tackle that last item on my list.

Farewell!

New Bag

Hey everyone!
Hope your Saturday is going well. Mine was rather restful actually; I love sleeping in then going to brunch with Mike. We always get bagels and spread cream cheese and jelly on top. Mmmm! So yummy. Bagels are pretty awesome in my book.

I been feeling really crafty this week, but I've been experiencing a lot of failures.

First I tried making a shirt out of an old pajama dress, and that failed miserably.
Then I tried making a headband; not too sure my technique was right but I'll tackle that project again later.

I was inspired by a picture post on threadbanger a few weeks ago. (look at the bottom of this post) It was a picture of a girl who made a side-bag out of a t-shirt.
I really liked this idea and wanted to try it.
None of my own t-shirt felt like volunteering for this experiment; but my luck struck when I saw a 'free' box at the end of my dorm hall. Inside I found this pretty red and white long sleeved shirt.
Since I have no machine I had to sew by hand, but I'm really happy with how the bag turned out.
I would like to make some letters to add on the front...still brainstorming on what they'll spell out.

This is the photo that inspired me.

Sigh...homework calls my name, and I must answer.
Have a lovely Saturday.

Banana Bread (yum yum)

So I've been craving my Mom's banana bread, missing home, ready to be done with school....so in order to lift my spirits, I decided to bake some of my own!
I found a recipe from Betty Crocker and the bread pretty much turned out awesomely.
I cut the loaf in half so Mike could have some and the other half was devoured by friends who's noses lead them to my dorm room. That's okay though, I love sharing!

Anyway...here are the pictures of my loaf of happiness!

I love brown paper packages, no string though, just a sticker

Does it not look delicious

Nuts to make it extra special

Smelling my yummy yummy loaf, so happy
:-)

I think that my dorm room is going to have a baking party. There's three of us so I think we'll make Banana Bread, Apple Bread, and Chocolate Chip Bread! I'm so excited!

Write you later!

Just a little something I found interesting

Robot Notebook Cover

So here's the banner I chose for my etsy shop (look out for the grand opening this summer), and here's a little something something I'll be putting up for sale.
This is a notebook cover, sleeve, sweater, whatever you wana call it. I have more designs already sketched out in my "inspiration" book so keep watch for more versions.
I added the recycle symbol because this item was made out of things that would have been thrown away had I not saved them. Every time you see that recycle logo on one of my items, you know that your purchase is helping keep our Earth pretty and green!

Coffee Cozies BOOM!

So, I wanted to post some of the other coffee cozies that I've been making.
I've had some custom orders come in at the beginning of the week and I've trying really hard to get them all done. I'm not really stressing over anything since I knit to relax anyway!

I've been thinking about opening up a little online store this summer.
I've been filling up my little notebook with ideas and plans on everything from what I'll make, themes, color ideas, names, all that good stuff.

Have an awesome Friday everyone!

NEW T-SHIRT!

I had a small bundle of joy when I opened my mail box this morning to find a new t-shirt inside.
I had ordered the shirt from Vista Print, and since it was my first one it was free. I had paid for the cheapest shipping and handling so I thought it would take a lot longer to get to me; oh what a lovely surprise!
I think I might "edit" the sleeves a little bit. Maybe make them into a more of a "puffy" style sleeve.
I'll post that if I ever get the time to actually take on that project.
All in all, I'm very happy with my new shirt!

Coffee Cozies

Ok so maybe I will end up making an update today anyway.
So I love to knit, and I saw these super cute "coffee cozies' on etsy.com and I though to myself "Self...you can make those too!"
Thus the adventure began.
So I knit one for my friend just to see if I can even do it. I was successful yet the colors of the were not the most attractive. (bright yellow and dark green) So I headed down to wal-mart and got some new and fun looking balls of yarn. After about 3 days of knitting I have completed two coffee "sweaters" (I call them) and several more pieces waiting to be sewn together.
I'm planning on making more and selling them on etsy for about 8 dollars each.
Here are the first two I made, I'll get better at it over time.
I'll keep you all updated on when I open my etsy shop and if I decided to make anything else.

Have a suggestion? Go ahead and leave a comment, here on on twitter.
