Here come the bridesmaids!

"The Western bridesmaid tradition is thought to have originated from Roman Law, which required ten witnesses at a wedding in order to outsmart evil spirits (believed to attend marriage ceremonies) by dressing in identical clothing to the bride and groom, so that the evil spirits would not know who was getting married. Even as late as 19th century England, there was a belief that ill-wishers could administer curses and taint the wedding. In Victorian wedding photographs, for example, the bride and groom are frequently dressed in the same fashion as other members of the bridal party."

Luckily, I don't believe in luck.
I'm choosing my bridesmaids will not be surrounding me as shields to evil spirits, but my good friends who will help me when my nerves are high and when I need support.

While I'm still on the hunt for "the" dress my girls will be wearing, I've got my color scheme down.
The maid of honor (Jenni!) will be in a fresh, grassy green and the other 3 girls will be in a nice yellow that's not too bright. They will be carrying down white bouquets to give that "pop" effect.

Another thing to check off the list would be to print and send out the "Will you be my Bridesmaid" cards.
I drew these illustrations this summer (inspired by Elycia) and plan on using them for the cards.
How cute will that be?

Here are some more super cute bridesmaid tutorials I found...

I hope that you all have a very productive Saturday!
