Show and Tell- My Weekend

Good Monday Morning Readers,
How as your weekend?

I found this simple tutorial and made an incognito stamp out of an eraser that I had lying around...

Then I went thrifting and picked up this really happy straw purse!
I was thrilled because I feel in love with a $175 one at the mall and I got this one for 5 bucks!
It pays to shop around.

I think I might give it a new lining. Other than that...this is exactly what I was looking for.

Oh yeah,
and I also found an old-school straw hat.

Sweet Nicoletta: Product Review

Welcome to my second product review.
Tonight, I will be evaluating the makers of one of my favorite treats on the planet...cupcakes!

Is your mouth watering yet?

These cupcakes, made by Sweet Nicoletta, taste as good as they look. In the summer, the shop sells ice cream to beat the heat. But the long Canadian winter months bring out the cupcake bakers in this family owned shop.
The creativity in the flavors and designs gone into these cupcakes is absolutely wonderful. You can walk away with one of these yummy treats for about 3 dollars and the more you buy the more you can save.

One of the pluses about Sweet Nicoletta is that they not only to walk-out orders, but also party packages.
Sweet Nicoletta will do everything from themed birthday parties to elegant weddings.

Sweet Nicoletta is run by two friendly brothers. You're sure to meet either Micheal or Matthew when browsing the cupcake display; and since this is a family business, you know you can always get quality cupcakes made with care and passion.

My family and I love stopping by the little shop about once a week and sometimes we receive an extra cupcake for free(just because the Matthew is that nice)!

Here's what we picked up tonight...

You can find Sweet Nicoletta's website by clicking here
And you can find their shop here at

395 Boul. Cure-Labelle
Fabreville, Laval
Quebec, Canada

Bon Apetit!

What do you get when you order a handmade happy?

Hello Readers!
Ever wonder what you would get in the mail when you order a Handmade Happy?
Well I'm here to tell you!

After all the excitement you're sure to feel after receiving a package in the mail, you would eventually open up your treat and pull out a baggy looking similar to these above.

So happily packaged, your Handmade Happy is just waiting for you to enjoy all it's wonders. But wait! What's this? There's more inside than meets the eye...

Ahh yes, each Handmade Happy comes along with a couple business cards (for you to share with your friends) and a lovely little bookmark designed by yours truly.
Awwww, Isn't that sweet?

I also wanted to give you a sneak peak of my latest Handmade Happy...

Ooodles and Ooodles of Doodles

Since my last post...

I've gone back to work at the daycare (part time)
I'm so happy to be back with all the kids. I really missed them a bunch!

I've been a busy little bee crafting away as well. I've been crocheting flowers pins like there's no tomorrow. (you can find those in the shop by Monday)

In addition to going back to work and crocheting away a storm (and catching a cold from the kids) I've also been doodling away!

Before...

After!

Before...

After!

Before (I think this is my favorite one...)

After!

Maybe this last one will be my new logo or featured in a new banner.

What's next on my list? These!

Stay tunned for the upcoming tutorials!

My goals for 2012 are......

I've never been a big fan of new year resolutions, but perhaps by posting my goals here I'll be more inclined to keep them.

The first one is "Plan my DIY wedding".
Mike and I won't be getting married until the summer of 2012, but since I'll be in school and have a super low budget, it doesn't hurt to start early. I think that I'll post tutorials and ideas here and on my youtube channel for other brides. I'll be making most of everything for my wedding including:
1. my veil
2. all the flower arrangements, bouquets and such
3. the cake (with Mom)
4. updating an old cake topper
5. favors
6.all decorations
7. programs (for the service)
and a bunch of other goodies!

The second thing on my list is to start my own business. I would like to sell some of the things that I make (mostly because I don't have room for everything) but also to make a small profit. I hope to make enough to save up for a nice road trip (adventure) vacation with Mike after we get married.
I'm currently working on making more things to stock up my little shop with and you'll be first to know when it opens!

I would also LOVE to make one tutorial a week for my readers and my viewers. So far I haven't really been able to be consistent and I would really like to up my number of followers. I know that if I put the work into it, I will get results!

Losing 30 pounds....yeah that's for health reasons but also for my wedding.
(Hey! Every girl wants to look her best!)

Finish school! That's a big one.
Why? I really really want my teaching degree and I don't want to have to deal with school right after getting married to Mike either. I would just love to get married, have a nice honeymoon, settle in a cute little apartment, and jump right into teaching!
Ahhh....that would be a dream.

What are you goals? Did you keep your old ones from last year? Oh yeah...download your own copy of this clip art here!

Happy New Year!

What's Going On?

So, for all my followers out there (and I know there aren't that many just yet), I must explain the lack of posts in the past few weeks.
I have been dealing with some unknown illness for some time and have decided that it was best to spend my spare time resting in bed. I have not fully recovered but decided that it was time to return to my normal activities of photography, blogging, crafting, and baking.

Updates...

Contest Winner
The giveaway winner was Nicole. Her prize will be sent out shortly. Enjoy your gift Nicole and congratulations! Please e-mail me your address at brittany.nicole@ni.edu.

Etsy
I've had my etsy shop up for a wee bit of time. I will be crafting more items to add to my shop stock shortly. Please stop on by and have a look, if you see something that may interest a friend please tell them about it. I'm just a poor college girl trying to pay for a good education and any little bit helps.

I've recently shopped at second hands stores and garage sales and uncovered a few treasures. You'll have to stay tunned for that blog update. :-)

Until then...thank you all for being so patient while I've been sick. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
