Back to School

I've this is about my 3rd week back at school and let's just say...it's good to be back.
I really missed my friends, and this whole place. I didnt know if I was going to be able to get back to school because of getting so sick, but I've been allowed to return as I follow these conditions.

1. maximum of 12 credits
2. no sports, plays, rough housing
3. lots of rest
4. no stairs, only elevators

Things are diffrent this year because of being sick, and that had me down for a while but I've decided to just let God play out his plan for my life and enjoy what he has given me now.

So because of the 12 credit load I have Tuesday and Thursday entirely free! No classes twice a week!
And, I'm vice president for my society so I've been able to work on lots of projets for that while sitting on my bed or on a couch as not to wear myself out...but what I really wanted to show you today was a few tips I had for room decorating.

Little Pretty Trinkets add a special charm to the side of my sink.

Never underestimate the power and efficiency of hooks. You can get those removable kinds that come right off when you're done with them. They really help to organize and therefore...make a prettier room!

These owls are on the wall that my bed it up against. I didn't have a headboard...so the space was just too empty.

I drew these myself (obviously...they aren't that wonderful)

I think I'll make more of these....

My wall of happy memories...ahhhh

I hope that you all have a wonderful Tuesday afternoon!

New York!

So, I left yesterday afternoon on a family/college roadtrip.
First, we drive all the way down to south carolina to bring my brother to school..then drive all the way up to winsconson to drop me off at school.
Along the way we're getting to see some pretty cool things. Today...New York City!

Some of you may reconize this from TLC's Cake Boss. I didn't actually get to go inside. The waiting line was literally a block and a half long! I was able to see them working upstairs through the windows though. I was pretty psyched out even if I didn't get to go inside.

My brother took this picture for me. I love these shoes, but sadly, they are falling apart. I did get them used at a second hand store for 3 bucks so I guess I'm getting what I paid for.

:-(

We took a boat to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. The boat ride there was a litlte bumpy, but the ride back was a lot worse. My brother and I actually got thrown against a wall on the boat when we hit the dock hard. We didn't get hurt though. All limbs acounted for!

There she is! She wasn't quite as big as I thought she would be, but the whole experience was wonderful.
Hopefully, I'll get some more pictures of my road trip later for you all to enjoy.

Yummy Parfaits

You can use your favorite fruits, or go ahead and try something new. Be adventurous. You can't really go wrong with a parfait. Experiment with different yogurts, fruits, and granola. (Perhaps...several yogurts at the same time?)

First, go ahead and gets some fruit together. About 4-5 different kinds is enough.

Next, add one type of fruit to the bottom of your bowl or cup, then cover with yogurt. Create another layer of fruit (not the same as the first layer) and top cover with yogurt. Continue until you have as many layers as desired remembering to switch up the fruit as you go along. You can also sprinkle granola over each layer for added crunchiness.

Finally, finish off your parfait with your absolute favorite fruit (you wana eat that one first anyway right?) and sprinkle on a generous amount of granola.
Yum Yum, enjoy!

Learning How To Make Granny Squares

So I got to go on a last minute visit down to Vermont to see Mike (yay!). While I was there, Mike's mother taught me how to crochet and how to make granny squares. The results lie before you...

Ok...so mine was the yellow one. Not so great, I know, but hey! It's my first one!

I'm just going to have to keep at it!

Scarfs!

My favorite time to throw on a scarf is during a windy, fall day. It's just to kind of accessory I grab while flying out of the door to get to class. Here are some idea's for you on how to wear a scarf, any day, any time!

Bye Bye!
