6 Weeks Pregnant and a Preschool Craft

Happy Monday everyone!

I’ve got a couple of things to share with you. First off, check out this cool craft/collage I did with my preschooler’s last week.
We were learning about the letter P and I decided to make an everything pink collage
The kids were able to mix white and red paint to make pink paint and then glue on an assortment of pink things I found in the supply closet.

Collages are great for preschoolers because :

1.       They’re easy prep
2.       They are inexpensive
3.       They let kids practice their fine motor skills

4.       They let kids practice their hand/eye coordination

I've also got a pregnancy video for you guys to see!
You don't want to miss this 6 weeks prego update...I get attacked by a bee halfway through the video...

Apple Seeds

BIG Announcement everybody!
Miss Yellow Shoes is pregnant!!!!!

I'm about 5 weeks right now so I know that I don't show at all. That poochy tummy is nothing but too many brownies and Oreo cookies.

I've been running through Pintrest looking for fun and creative maternity shots. Of course we will do the belly shots every month but I thought that it would be really cool to take a picture of my baby blanket in the making.

You can check out the first one (right up there) and the next one will be taken after I have completed the blanket and I'm in my 9th month of pregnancy. The last photo will be be me holding the baby wrapped in the blanket. Cute huh???

Currently, my baby is roughly the size of an apple seed. As far as pregnancy symptoms go, I've experienced fatigue, a little dizziness, and some cramping. Nothing crazy.

Apple Season : Preschool Crafts

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Mike and I have moved into our new home and I can't wait to share it with you all. Decorating the place is going to take a while. I don't want to decorate too quickly because you just can't rush creativity.

Anyways, it's apple picking season and my preschoolers have been very busy.

This was a simple apple collage we did on a rainy day. We printed an apple from The Mailbox.com and tore up red, green, and brown paper.
Tearing the paper was a great activity for the kids. They practiced their fine motor skills and social skills by helping me out.

We also cut some apples in half to see the "start" hidden on the inside. It was fun to explain to the kids that God put that star in there, and he didn't really have to. He just did because he's creative and love beauty.

What else would a creative preschool teacher do with these apple halves, then drop them in paint!

We had some messy hands and one child did trip and fall before he could wash his hands...

I think that every child should have the chance to do these classic fall crafts. They are super inexpensive and so much fun!

Do you remember making either of these crafts as a kid?
